CAICL Events

The CAICL Research Network seeks to bring together scholars working on critical approaches to International Criminal Law.  Information is available here about both Network-organised events and other conferences, symposia, and lectures of interest to CAICL scholars.

Past CAICL Research Network Events

Liverpool Conference: Convened by Christine Schwöbel, the Liverpool conference was the Network’s first major event.  6-8 December 2012, Liverpool, UK.

Doha IGLP Workshop: Several Network members (Michelle Burgis-KasthalaTor KreverHeidi MatthewsChristine Schwöbel) were in Doha, Qatar for the Institute for Global Law and Policy’s annual Workshop where they discussed outcomes from the Liverpool conference and future collaboration with the Institute. 4-14 January 2013, Doha, Qatar.

IGLP Conference ‘New Directions in Global Thought: A CAICL panel, convened by Tor Krever, saw a number of CAICL members present their work at the IGLP Conference at Harvard Law School.  Paul Clark spoke on international criminal spaces, Immi Tallgren on humanity and ICL, Sujith Xavier on TWAIL perspectives on ICL, and Thomas Skouteris on history and ICL. 3-4 June 2013, Cambridge, MA, US.  

London Workshop: Convened by Paul Clark and hosted by Grietje Baars at City University, the workshop brought together a number of CAICL members to discuss work in progress and future network activities.  18-19 October 2013, London, UK.
