Welcoming Dr Randle DeFalco

RandleThe Critical Approaches to International Criminal Law research cluster at the University of Liverpool is pleased to welcome Dr. Randle DeFalco. Dr. DeFalco joins the University as a Banting Postdoctoral Research Fellow, the most competitive and prestigious postdoctoral research fellowship awarded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, after completing his doctorate (SJD) at the University of Toronto. Dr. DeFalco’s research explores the role of aesthetics in shaping socio-legal understandings of the forms atrocity crimes (genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes) may take. While at Liverpool, Dr. DeFalco will collaborate with CAICL Director Christine Schwöbel-Patel in researching the aesthetics of international justice while pursuing his research project, entitled “(Re)conceptualizing Atrocity: Violence, Visibility and the Aesthetics of International Criminal Justice.”
